British gas Bosch boiler, combi.
Hot water gears fine.
Thermostat does not start the boiler, if I manually increase desired temp to say 30 degrees the gas flame icon appears which should set the boiler to radiator on. But boiler does not kick in

How do you do a RF reset / relock onto the thermostat? Batteries are new enough.

If it's a wireless thermostat then you may need to 'pair' it to the control unit near the boiler. Our boiler is in the loft and has a wireless unit next to it all the wall. Ours did something similar when we had the batteries out for a while. Google your model of thermostat and go through the process of pairing, im assuming it will different depending on the thermostat you have.

Had something similar on our boiler (Vaillant, not Bosch) recently. Turned out the diverter valve was stuck and needed replacing.

I topped up the radiator pressure last week, it was switching on rad before that, it's at the correct pressure now would not turning and removing the plastic key/plug correctly cause the boiler not to hear up the rads?

what stat and receiver do you have?

Take a picture or tell me model

Its not the diverter valve if you don't know what your on about don't fire suggestions it leads people down the wrong path

Push the top button on the receiver that says "overide" does the boiler fire up and a green light appear on the receiver? If so the boiler is fine and hopefully re-pair get will fix the issues.

To re-pair...

Power off fuse spur to boiler.
Remove thermostat batteries.
Power back on spur.
Hold down the buttons on the receiver marked 1&2 (learn). A red light should flash.
Let go of the buttons and insert batteries.
Red flashing should stop.
Set temperature till the flame appears.
The green light should come on and the boiler respond.
