Bosch Tassimo

Nobody's claiming that it does. If you're a massive coffee fan than it stands to reason you're going to want to do it the proper way, the Tassimo (and the machines like it) are for people who want a step-up from instant coffee etc, as well as the ability to have a wide variety of drinks.
True but this wide variety of drinks is really crap, you're better off getting a decent coffee machine and learning how to use it.
Cheaper, better, just as quick.

20 seconds just as quick?

Turn Tassimo On > Place Mug under spout > Add t-disc of choice > Press Go. 15 seconds later out comes a decent coffee. No cleaning, no mess, no fuss.

I don't think you can top its convenience, that's its selling point...

I can pull a decent espresso in 40 seconds which would knock the dick off a tassimo and throw it in a blender.
Anything else maybe a couple of minutes tops.

Seems like such a ripoff product, so expensive for what it is.

I'll guess we'll have to agree to disagree then. The Tassimo suits me fine and the convenience is a large part of that.

I used to have a Tassimo (one of the 1st models made) but changed it for a proper Krupps expresso machine, sometimes I miss the ease of use of the Tassimo (and the Twinings tea is fantastic)but it can't make a latte like the expresso machine due to not being hot enough when 'steaming' the milk pod for my liking.

The coffee snob in me is crying right now.

But I know I shouldn't be so judgemental...

The coffee machine at work takes at least 20 mintes to heat up / get going, tassimo are convient Whilst the coffee is not the best it's nice. 40 second expresso? does that include grinding, knocking out?

had a tassimo for many years and godknows where i would be without it.

ok so the price of the discs are a little expensive but the fact it i have around 8 different coffees and 2 teas plus hot chocolates all of the best quality available right now outweight the cost imo

i love it for my coffee, she loves it for tea and hot chocolate, i can make a coffee and she can make some special tea etc straght away after... you cant beat it.

t discs used to be 3.29 for 16 until recently when they are around 4 quid but i still think its good value if you like your coffee. no mess, no fuss and anybody can do it including my 7 year old who brings me a coffee in the morning

I have a Nespresso and a Gaggia. It's no competition really, but the Nespresso isn't bad. The pods can be bought from Selfridges.

No it isn't, the variety is great actually and is why I bought one and still use mine regularly. If I wanted a machine that would just do coffee and nothing else, I'd have got one.
I can do everything you can do on a Tassimo with my gaggia coffee machine, cheaper and better.

If I'm in a rush I use preground.
20 minutes? Mines not an expensive model by any means but it takes 30 seconds tops to heat up.

So you can do chai latte tea and Cadbury hot chocolate with a Gaggia coffee machine? Impressive.

Looking at machine prices, the Gaggia machines seem rather expensive compared to a £60 Tassimo.

Hot water for the tea? Check.
Steam for the hot chocolate? Check.

Personally, I use 30g of Hotel Chocolat flakes and 200g of cold milk in a milk jug and then steam until 65°C as normal to make hot chocolate.

As for price, a Ferrari 599 is expensive when compared to a Kia...
