Bose ipod dock - can it be used with anything else?

We have an old bose ipod speaker dock, the kind that would be compatible with iPhone 3gs and ipods though I think the socket they used Is now obsolete?
We no longer have a working iPhone or ipod so this is basically a dead piece of kit. (I don't think it has any other audio inputs).

I was wondering if the was any kind of adapter I could get to make this work with android phones. The charging aspect is less important, I would just like to be able to use the speakers.

Had a similar problem with my old (but decent) Klipsch iPod dock. Google for a Layen i-Dock 4.0, which is a 30pin bluetooth adapter. Was a bit sceptical about using one but I'm really impressed and it has saved a perfectly good dock with an elderly 30pin connector that we have no 30 pin devices for.

I bought a 5quid Bluetooth adaptor off ebay for my bose ipod dock and it's worked like a dream for over 2 years
