sound is very subjective, worse that even vision, where some folks can notice a huge difference between 75 & 100hz in a monitor and others less so.
i would suggest listening to whatever item you are interested in and making the decision yourself. i was blown away by the mini soundlink when i heard one at a friends house, and it's been great for the last 3+ years. i love it's portability, and often take it with me if i'm having a bath! i'd never consider buying a dedicated speaker for the bathroom for example.
i have a bose headset that's 'OK' sound wise but i can wear it for a long time and it lets in other sound just fine (so my other half can talk to me when we're gaming) my sennhesier pc360 gaming headset sounds better and the mic is better, but i get hot ears so thats better for shorter sessions.
so i suggest going and listening to some bose stuff, and as many other manufacturers as you can if you are spending $$. Personally i like the 'bose sound' but everyones ears are different.
as a note, careful of some items - their qc35 recently had an ota update rendering the nc almost useless from what i read. i imagine it's all sorted now, but for something like that to be forced on all owners i think i'd rather own a system where updates were at my discretion.
