BOTB Win your dream car

Had a couple of goes a few months back. Decided it was going to be a waste of money and haven't done any since. Might have a go now I've seen this thread though :p

I'll apologise in advance then for your loss of cash :(:p

However if you win, I'll be claiming 10% cash value :D

This just reminds me of those guys who stand around fancy cars in airports and charge you £25 for a "raffle ticket". Never heard of anyone winning a car and no mention of the logistics of getting a £200k Ferrari from Abu Dhabi to your home.

This does look legit but it's just gambling really.

Exactly that! Probs more chance of winning on Roulette or the likes

I play it every so often. I was actually one pixel out once from winning and got £250 in game credit. Nice, but don't think I'll ever be as close ever again!!

I think it's the same company, they have a stand in Gatwick anyway

The problem with these things is that it's obvious the companies out to make money, which means ultimately it's going to be in their favour.

I'm sure there's been the odd few winners, but I'd say your better off putting the money on roulette or the lottery, at least then you know the odds of winning!

I joined and got a free £5, didn't win but came in pretty close so they gave me 75p back.

They release a video every Tuesday on YouTube where they show the winner the car he has won by driving a similar model to his home, they also release a video of the judging process for each win.

Think the wait to collect the car from the dealer can be a few months.

Yeah it does seem an odd way of doing it. Rather than revealing where the ball actually is they have a panel of judges who determine where they think the ball is  and judge it on that instead.

Theres some sort of legal reason where you cant ask people to predict an event that has actually already occurred so they cant use where the real ball is. Its always been that way with the old Spot The Ball competitions in the papers.

They send their own photographer to local games and smaller teams as well. It's all legit and a good bit of fun for a couple of quid a week. Some of the users have won more than once as well lucky gits

I disagree because there is no skill involved in roulette/lottery (I'll admit this type of thing is not a pure skill game either!). The lottery is the worst, because it is guaranteed to pay out less in prizes than the total amount wagered, every single time it is run. Roulette not much better because statistically over the long term it will pay out less in prizes than it takes in wagers too, but on any given day, unlike the lottery, it is possible for the house to lose money.

I remember doing one of these spot the ball competitions as a kid some time in the 90's, where you had to post off the marked up cutting from the paper :D

Amusing that this has some rekindled popularity; I guess some edgy marketing & YouTube sponsorship really does work :p
