Been for a long drive today to pickup up the newest addition to my family...

She's a 7 week old bulldog puppy. We've called her botox. :p She's asleep next to me right now. :D

English Bulldogs cost a FORTUNE! A pedigree is between £1500 and £2000! Plus you also have the health problems associated with the breed.

So, we were looking for a bulldog cross. This one is a cross between an English bulldog and an American Bulldog. Its got most of the features of an english bull, but the tail is straight and should have a bit easier breathing and mobility.

We paid £375 for her. The bitches and dogs were the same price. We had 8 to choose from, and she just stood out to us. We also got to meet her mother, who was quite a small american bull, and some pictures of her english bull father. The couple we bought her off seemed to really know their stuff when it comes to breeding. The also had two young kids so the dogs were well used to children and had a really good temprement, however thats pretty much usual for the breed anyway.

It seems really friendly and playful. It was stalking a peice of dirt on the floor earlier. :p

Its been in our house a few hours and has already decided it doesn't like the floor, and wants to be up on the sofa with us.

I'm guessing its gonna have big seperation issues. Gonna go to bed soon, and try to leave it in the kitchen (papered stone floor = easy cleaning!) but when I last tested it, it started crying after only a few minutes. :(

Well, last night was fun. We started off trying to get the puppy to sleep on her bed in the corner of our bedroom.

First she slept for half and hour, then woke up. Then she slept for an hour.

She kept coming up to the side of the bed. So eventually I moved her bed next to the bed, and she was fine from then on. Eventualy got 3 hours sleep! :o But at least we worked out how to keep her happy.

Well, my mates a plumber, and I dont have wallpaper. :p

I've just got some PVC wooden floor underlay. Got enough to cover my entire livingroom and bedroom, so my carpets should remain unscathed.

Such a cute dog, and a great name.

Are bulldogs viscious? My girlfriend asks.
Completely the opposite. They're nothing like their looks. They're complete softies! Docile, loyal and a bit on the lazy side. :p

Ever watch Britains worst pets? There was a bulldog on there called Alfie who hated walks, was so funny. Then there was Jodie marhs's bulldog's on another pet show. So cute. Since them my girlfriends been obsessed.

Nice dog, but is she worth £370 more than Charlie?? :p
If we breed her with a stud bulldog, her puppies will be worth over a grand. Considering she came from a litter of 11, you do the math ;)

We were looking at getting a staff for pocket money, but when a bulldog came up for a good price, from a good home, from experienced breeders, it was just a no brainer.

:o How many times a year can they have babies? Heck if you say got 15 a year thats 15k a year  Dear lord you can retire!
I'm not an expert, but I think they can probably have a few litters in a life time. The more they pump out, the more problems you can have with the puppys. We were advised by the people we bought it from to give her a litter at 2 years old.

Remember, when we give her a litter, she never has to do it again, as we could keep one of the litter for ourselves to breed in a couple of years time. Why do you think people breed dogs. You can make a bundle. Of course its a lot of work looking after them though, and you've got to have the right house / garden for it.

Its something we'll probably look into in a couple of years time.

Check it out :p

Just an update. She's now nearly double the weight of when we got her.

Plus she's learned sit, down, left and right paw, beg (both paws), stay and come. Plus she's now peeing and pooing outside!
