Been for a long drive today to pickup up the newest addition to my family...

She's a 7 week old bulldog puppy. We've called her botox. :p She's asleep next to me right now. :D

Puppies rock :D
How much did she set you back if you don't mind me asking? Were the bitches more expensive than the dogs?

Before you know it she'll be a part of the family :)

English Bulldogs cost a FORTUNE! A pedigree is between £1500 and £2000! Plus you also have the health problems associated with the breed.

So, we were looking for a bulldog cross. This one is a cross between an English bulldog and an American Bulldog. Its got most of the features of an english bull, but the tail is straight and should have a bit easier breathing and mobility.

We paid £375 for her. The bitches and dogs were the same price. We had 8 to choose from, and she just stood out to us. We also got to meet her mother, who was quite a small american bull, and some pictures of her english bull father. The couple we bought her off seemed to really know their stuff when it comes to breeding. The also had two young kids so the dogs were well used to children and had a really good temprement, however thats pretty much usual for the breed anyway.

You certainly did the right thing by getting a cross. The pedigree Bulldogs are rife with skin problems, allergies and other health problems. IMO a cross is a far better dog in terms of health and in terms of intelligence.

That's a bloody good price too, I'm almost tempted.

hehe that glowing ball is prety cool! Nice dog to... she is adorable tbh, makes me realise how much I miss my dog (She is staying with my grandparents as im at uni and am out most of the day) Still I was hoping to have a rant about botox when I came in here.... *Wonders off to find another thread to moan in*

It seems really friendly and playful. It was stalking a peice of dirt on the floor earlier. :p

Its been in our house a few hours and has already decided it doesn't like the floor, and wants to be up on the sofa with us.

I'm guessing its gonna have big seperation issues. Gonna go to bed soon, and try to leave it in the kitchen (papered stone floor = easy cleaning!) but when I last tested it, it started crying after only a few minutes. :(

Ah! Fun days a head a! To be honest, our dog never really got over the being left thign :-/

Ah well my dog always sleeps on me, or at the very least on her bed in my room, I couldent say no to her face and shut her in the kitchen/living room, Plus its nice to see her little face watching me when I wake up, and when she is cold she comes and gives me a hug :D Ahh I love dogs dont care what anyone says they realy cant love someone like they are family, Had a lot of joy from my dog, if im sad she comes and cheers me up, if im ill she checks on me, etc, couldent get a nicer animal... well maybe a cow but there a bit big for your average house

Well, last night was fun. We started off trying to get the puppy to sleep on her bed in the corner of our bedroom.

First she slept for half and hour, then woke up. Then she slept for an hour.

She kept coming up to the side of the bed. So eventually I moved her bed next to the bed, and she was fine from then on. Eventualy got 3 hours sleep! :o But at least we worked out how to keep her happy.

Thats one seriously cute dog! I want one now!

The only thing putting me off is remembering one of my old bosses telling me about his that used to bite holes in his radiator pipes and also loved stripping wallpaper off from the ground upwards!! :)

Well, my mates a plumber, and I dont have wallpaper. :p

I've just got some PVC wooden floor underlay. Got enough to cover my entire livingroom and bedroom, so my carpets should remain unscathed.
