Bottlenecking Question

Hi, a friend of mine has a Bulldozer 4100 PC with 8gb Ram and is looking to upgrade his graphics card, what we want to know is if he buys a R9 270X will it bottleneck at all ?

Yes, quite badly too!

It's quite a bit slower then a Phenom 2 in gaming.

Get it anyway though since you can easily drop an 8320 in there

Depends on the game(assuming gaming). Nowadays most games are bottle necked mostly by the GPU's and not the CPU's but I can't really speak for the 4100. 8gigs of ram should hold for almost anything a normal user would do.

My 6100 paired with anything faster that a 660 gets started to shows fair signs of bottle necking in multiplayer heavy cou intensive titles like bf4 and chivalry
