Bought 360 componant cable but still no 1080p

I have a component to HDMI converter and tbh its not good enough, certainly theres a world of difference between 1080p component converted to HDMI compared to pure HDMI.
 
got the cheapest possible hdmi cable and had no problem whatsoever, works on my lg 42 full hd, and my pc monitor which is also full hd, i mean xbox 360 works full hd. possibly ur xbox settings need to be changed
 
reckon you lose a few fps scaling up to 1080, twin ring motegi start/finish in fm3 is smoother for me in native 720.
