Hi all,

Because of the whole DR lottery with 16GB memory sticks I bought a few 32GB kits but now I'm not 100% sure what to keep so need some help with the decision as someone more knowledgeable might steer me the right way.

I've bought:

Crucial Ballistix RGB 32GB 3600 kit (have 2)
BL16G36C16U4BL.M8FB1 16GB DDR4-3600 16-18-18-38 1.35V

Crucial Ballistix RGB 32GB 3200 kit (have 2)
BL16G32C16U4BL.16FE 16GB DDR4-3200 16-18-18-36 1.35V

Team Group Pro Dark 8Pack 32GB 3600 kit (just 1)
TDPPD416G3600HC16GBK 16GB DDR4 3600 16-16-16-38 1.35V

This is for a new build so no idea how good the 5900x will be, but I expect the MSI X570S Carbon Max to be pretty good with overclocking (no idea on memory topology).

Not a massive overclocker so just wanted something that will match my CPU 1:1 hopefully over 1800...

I know the Ballistix 3200 kit is deffo DR from the 16FE suffix while the 3600 lot is SR as it's M8FB1. Both are obviously Micron E die. No idea about the Team Group stuff other than it's Samsung B die so I thought all 16GB sticks of that had to be DR but have no way of telling I think without putting it in the system.

Just want an idea what you guys would use, I think I only wanted 32GB (2*16GB) as I doubt think I really need 64GB (4*16GB) for gaming and software dev. Need to return some of it though!

TIA

3600mhz will give you 1:1 on 5900 by default, in theory B die maybe able to reduce latency to cas15 or if lucky cas14!
Yeah I'm definitely thinking the Samsung B die should be the best, but Id be gutted if it ends up SR even though everyone seems to think it's old and should only exist as DR for 16GB sticks.

I should have said not too bothered about RGB since I'm using an Arctic Freezer 360 (ARGB) so not lights beyond fans and mobo...

Need to see if 64GB is even worthwhile as its always seemed to me if you have to ask, you don't need it. Just thought it might keep me more comfortable until DDR5 is better and the PC market isn't so overpriced.

Yeah think I was swayed by the thoughts of cheap 64GB (4*16GB) for not much more and hoping the Crucial 3200/5900x would be just about good enough to get say over 1800 1:1, but then it's all DR so doubt that would play nice!

Thanks - came to my senses...
