I bought my FZ09 (MT-09 in the UK) blind... Never saw one in person before, or sat on one.. But it was new, so i knew they'd be nothing wrong with it.. Just had reviews and pics to go on.. I did sit on an FZ-08 which fit me well, and i knew the FZ09 was a little more manageable, so pulled the trigger and placed one on order.... Waited about 6weeks, got my call and rode off into the sunset. :D

Bought a 1997 Honda CBR600F from Budget Bikes, Swindon. Picked her up for £1499, they charged me £1599, but i noticed when the invoice came through and they will refund it to my card. Getting it delivered hopefully this weekend.

Anybody here have experiences with this dealer, or bought bikes blind before?

Anything in particular to look out for on this year and model bike?

I'm excited to look it over and get started on any work.... also incredibly nervous!

Now to pass my Mod 2 and get my crazy priced insurance!

Runs beautifully, Especially after resitting the exhaust manifolds with new gaskets. Such comfy ride, cornering is so light, bike weighs about 190kg with half a tank. Does 140mph effortlessly, I didn't even realise till I looked down!

Doing 140mph and didn't realise?

You haven't been passed long, slow down. Get on a track day if you want to do those speeds without endangering others.

Echo what Scythe said.

I'm in a similar position having done my DAS a few months ago and have a CBR600FS. Love the bike and whilst it's easy to pick up speed, I would notice going into three figures!

I struggle to believe you cannot realise you're doing 140mph on an older 600. Even my 675R was running out of steam at 140mph and you most certainly knew you were doing it on the Nurburgring straight, let alone on a road.

Anyway, bike looks good. Slow down and enjoy it...

Yeah, my ZX6R is the same at those speeds.

My old hornet had the lovely il4 scream anything past 120 on the autobahn, so I doubt you'd not notice it.

I'm glad my first big bikes were all naked it really helped with the sense of speed and to help me stay sensible.

imo it's not about the straight line speed anyone can open the throttle, it's the feeling you get when you hit a chain of apexes spot on :D

and the ones with decent tyres !!

my front tyre is getting thin:eek::(

most I ever got out of my zx6 was 160,everything tucked in

Lol get your head out the bubble, other wise you'll not be long for this world.

Points taken :)

I wear ear plugs for long journeys, i knew id hit 100 and thought i was just keeping the speed, it definitely scared the #*!$ out of me, i was tucked in under my fairings to keep out the cold air.

Riding today made me realize the stupidity of those speeds and how planning ahead is so important, few moments on the brakes will be slowing me down for next time.
