will try to keep this short, but im a monitor hoarder think this is my 18th monitor in 7 years

So been daily driving the LG 27 OLED for just over 8 months but as the alienware was on special offer managed to grab it for 500 quid delivered next day

So wanted to share my thoughts

The LG OLED is far better in terms of text,
The QD-OLed is blinding bright, Of course 34inch is nice

Text fringing on QD-OLED is lot more noticable, Specially on OSX vs Windows.

The LG OLED almost had 0 text issues, but QD-OLED has quite bit in comparsion

none are these are terrible.

currently have QD-OLEd as main & the WOLED stacked above :)

How are you getting it for £500? Store credit or something?

You jammy #######
Same as jay85
Spent an hour trying discount codes
None of them worked
Guess I will wait until nearer Xmas
Hopefully find a code that works
Although there's a cashback offer I would rather
Just get a discount at point of sale
Recent asus cashbacks have put me right off cashback

Nice to hear your thoughts on it though
Some people don't mind
The sub pixel text thing others hate it
Wish there was somewhere to see the monitor in person first

Is there no Better Cleartype Tuner on OSX like there is on Windows to rmeove the text fringe?
Yeah it's definitely causing you text issues
"rmeove" lol
If its too much to put up with
Will happily take it off your hands as a Xmas present

Seriously though
Think font smoothing
Is about all you have on mac
Or play around with anti aliasing
If that's an option on mac
Not that I really use apple stuff
But have seen plenty of people mentioning it
In regards to this monitor

Got the DWF last night and it's going back without a doubt. Excellent colours and crispness and the res is just right for a 34". But my god the red and green fringing is driving me nuts. Dark text on a light background is fine but I use a dark theme and light text on a dark background is a no go. Even in games you can see it clearly. It's especially bad on a dark grey background.

Did a pixel refresh with no change and clear type did nothing. Fan was inaudible.

Shame really, as it's excellent in all other departments. My PG42UQ has far better text.

Thanks for that information
Something I hadn't seen mentioned before
People talked about the text obviously
But don't recall anyone
Mentioned text if using dark themes
Was literally eyeing up one on MM before reading this too

i had text fringing on windows but after running through cleartype its pretty much gone, but also noticed the dimmer your backlight (brightness) the better it is. 35% was to bright so now on 10%
on MAc the Fringing was also bad, but few tweaks no longer notice it for the most part but as Black mentioned LG OLED is far crisper

At 10%
How's that in a bright room?
I hate yellow light
So my pc room has a daylight bright white led light
10% on my mini led display seems way too dull
To my eyes anyway
Different people may prefer different brightness of course
