Bought yet another monitor WOLED vs QD-OLED

Thanks for that
At 10%
How's that in a bright room?
I hate yellow light
So my pc room has a daylight bright white led light
10% on my mini led display seems way too dull
To my eyes anyway
Different people may prefer different brightness of course
its ok, ive settled on 20% as it helps a lot with hdr

my room is basicaly a greenhouse with windows on 3 sides of 4 sided room..works fine in daylight & light right abve
of course with QD-OLED blacks look grey when under direct light where as LG OLED are pitch black

One of the reasons I didn't get the DWF or QD-OLED in general for my PC and went with a used VA ultrawide as a stopgap. Even if light hits my C2 the blacks stay black and it gets plenty bright anyways.

That + text fringing and too much desktop use.

TBH, all I want is a high quality ultrawide miniLED for PC use or a decent discount on the DWF in my country:p Or some development in screen tech:p

Got the DWF last night and it's going back without a doubt. Excellent colours and crispness and the res is just right for a 34". But my god the red and green fringing is driving me nuts. Dark text on a light background is fine but I use a dark theme and light text on a dark background is a no go. Even in games you can see it clearly. It's especially bad on a dark grey background.

Did a pixel refresh with no change and clear type did nothing. Fan was inaudible.

Shame really, as it's excellent in all other departments. My PG42UQ has far better text.

Go try a 2nd gen QD OLED monitor, it has a different sub pixel for text

What's the status of burn-in warranty for the LG. I hear it's covered in the US, but not in the UK/EU - is this true? I want to get it but worried about the cover.
Not sure because all I can find is tech sites saying that LG have decided to offer a 2 year burn in warranty, even UK sites but nothing actually from LG. I watched a video on YouTube by an American guy and he rang LG during the video, the person he spoke to at LG said they don't cover burn in and this was a few months after all the tech sites said LG are now offering burn in cover.

So to summarise xxxx knows :p

The only panel LG offers burn in warranty is LG G series and above. If they advertise it quite openly for G series, its same to assume that rest of the panels are not covered.

Provided you only have one monitor, there is a good fix for this.

I do agree that it is a serious issue, and I am very surprised that Microsoft has failed to offer a solution. It needs a multi-monitor solution.
