Hey fellas,
Following on from my previous post, I've decided to go out on Saturday for the missus' birthday. We're going to go to Bournemouth.

What I'm after is the following.

Decent Hotels that are reasonably priced, 3/4 star.
Nice Bars to go to before hand.
A Decent Club to finish finish up.

Looking for uplifting music, bit of trance, house, commercial dance e.t.c Light hearted stuff.

So where to stay? Where's good to go? :)

Thanks fellas.

Ant, Budget for Hotel would help!? But for one night the Metro Palace Court Hotel (Westover Road) Used to be Stakis Hilton will set you back about £80 for the night with a sea view and breakfast (that price MAY have changed since last October when I stayed there). Pre Pubs / Clubs, you've got the Brasshouse (again westover road), Yates, or very cool if you want quiet pre club is DNA at the top of Old ChristChurch Road near the Lansdowne. Then, all down Old Xchurch road are numerous cool bars like that Australian one (cant remember its name atm), Bar Med round the corner from the clubs (elements, etc) which are all in the same area. Blitz is ok, a bit petentious, but you know.......its Bournemouth! You've also got the Moon in the Square which is Weatherspoon, Edwards, Lighthouse, etc for good pre club pubs.

Other Hotels in that area are gonna be pricey and for location, you've got Royal Bath (De Vere group), Bournemouth Hotel (which is OK and not too expensive), then some of the ones on the overcliff which are a little walk from town but shouldnt be too expensive if you got a taxi, e.g. Miramar Hotel, Marriot....oooooo Norfolk Royal, thats damn nice and good value for money, thats on Richmond Hill near Casa (another excellent pre club bar).

Ummm, hope that all helps!

there's a kick ass place called bar me

haha, your kidding right? I remember under the old management it was always empty, they only reason we went there was because they would let us in without ID!

I'd like to point I'm after something a little upmarket. Preferably clientell between 22-30. I don't want to be going out with a bunch of kids excited about being let in :)

Jimmy's, top of the hill at The Triangle. More pretentious than a cow wearing a monocle.

To be honest the only night to go to the Opera House is Slinky's on a friday ;)

I'd give Elements/Dancing Fever a wide birth if you dont want to be surrounded by 18-22yr/old students in a meat market! Was in there a couple of weeks back and the place is still as terrible as it's always been.

Bournemouth is far better as a Pre Club town now - problem is there are no clubs to go to that are not covered with wannabe 18 year olds and students. Slinky is also NO WHERE near the centre of Bournemouth or any decent Hotels. In fact, its in one of the roughest parts of Bournemouths sub districts!

I appreciate the info, but we're going :) I'd just like some input as to where to stay, and where to go, as opposed to where not to.

Just a few nice clubs, a decent bar or two, and somewhere convenient to stay would be really useful.
