Not sure if this has been posted, but damn, I bought a few things from there.

I'm sure people are rushing to buy stuff from an online retailer that's going into administration! :D

If they start selling stock off that beats competitors prices they certainly will!

There are people on this forum buying b grade 4090s with 90 day warranty  never underestimate the lengths people will go to, to save a few bob.

Man trucks done the same to ERF when they bought them out, ERF inflated the future order values and promptly forced the company into administration and wound them down shortly after.

Shame i liked box, bought a few things from them in the past

Wow I am shocked to read this thread, cant believed box.co.uk went bust. I bought 1 item from box.co.uk on ebay few years ago.

I didnt know box.co.uk, chillblast, horizon, GEO and CCL are owned by Tactus Group. Interesting!

AMD and Nvidia both now lost 1 top partner, no next games promotion offers when you buy graphics cards from box.co.uk.

Sign of the times.....

I do wonder how UK retailers are standing up to Amazon, which I'm guessing will be there biggest problem.

I try not to Amazon I think they are a grubby company, I don't have prime, but admittedly I still use them now and then.

I bought a wireless mouse a few weeks ago and I did look around at UK retailers first (OCUK didn't sell this mouse I was after) but Amazon was £5 cheaper than anywhere else I could find, plus everywhere else was charging delivery, so basically £10 cheaper on Amazon, and I do feel a bit guilty but that's £10 in my pocket.

Economies of scale. It happens in all industries and is very difficult to combat and the future will be monopolised in the end. All these legacy companies that have a "shop" front are all on borrowed time.

You see it in the trucking industry big time. Massive companies with thousands of trucks. They can undercut all the smaller companies because 1 transport manager can look after 100 drivers whereas a smaller company have to pay the same manager to look after 30. Same with Trucks. You put an order in for 100 brand new trucks you are going to get them a lot cheaper than someone buying 10.

They end up getting these smaller companies for a pittance and swallow up all their contracts.

I bought a wired Logitech M110 I wanted silent wheel mouse a few years ago, I did looked around UK retailers for the best prices first. OCUK did not sell mouse I was after but I found Amazon was more expensive then I found box.co.uk on ebay sell for £11 it was the cheapest compared to all sellers on ebay.
