Why is it called boxing day?, anyone on the razz? or too hungover from yesterday?

Its because after opening up all your presents on Christmas day, you are left with empty boxes. Boxing day is the day you box all the boxes away.

Thats my theory anyway.

It's a Victorian tradition. Boxing Day is so called because it was the custom on that day for tradesmen to collect their Christmas boxes/gifts in return for good and reliable service throughout the year.
