Looking at going sometime Feb/March for a weekend of beer and "sight seeing"

So far Tallinn is winning at £105 for flights and two nights hotel - anyone else know of places as cheap/fun? Prague and Riga etc are coming back more costly - are they worth it?! :D

Tallinn is awesome, very nice old style town, and there's a bar in there i thnik it's called "havana bar" that did buy one get one free on cocktails, and everything out there is dirt cheap

Just got back from Malta, £40 return for flights and accomm for 4 nights. If you're not really that bothered where you go then I'd suggest you just keep checking Ryanair/Easyjet for cheap flights and offers (they run them all the time) and see what pops up.

I only booked that holiday a month before leaving and a few days before I booked the flights were 2p return incl. taxes.

Tallin is awesome.

DEFINATELY go and shoot a load of guns ... its very cheap - we shot AK47s, sniper rifles, desert eagles, M16s, Lara croft pistols -- everything. It was awesome, and quite cheap.

The ladies in Estonia are just unfeasible beautiful. It is just baffling! But they are of course all unavailable.

Talinn is more fun than Prague AND cheaper.

Oh and get yourself a Post Office Travelcard, it's Visa Electron so you won't be charged £10 per person by Ryanair (which is usually more than the actual flights themselves!). Also you'll be fine just taking hand luggage, especially for only 2/3 days. I managed to pack too much for my 5 days, and I took a huge bath towel unnecessarily too :p.

Tallinn had the prettiest array of girls I've ever seen.

The big steps statue is a huge waste of concrete :p

Lovely place though, really pretty place, beware of the Russian mafia guys

why?

Guns -- why ...?
2 reasons

1) It is an activity which is illegal in most countrys, including this one. Therefore whilst he's there he has an opportunity he wouldn't normally have to do something cool
2) I have done just about every single 'stag-esque' lads activity humanly possible, and shooting guns was definately one of the best. Much more fun and interesting then go-karting yet again or paintball yet again.

Ladies unavailable -- why?

because the English abroad have got a reputation (especially in Eastern Europe) of being total and complete idiots (I'm not swearing but should be!). The girls hate the English because lots of them have puked, spat, fought and peed their way around Talinn for the last 15 years.

And traditionally they get married earlier. And they see things like 1 night stands (or even snogs in the nightclub) as a lot more unacceptable than UK girls. They think it's what 'hookers' do -- and normal Estonian girls you're talking about a kiss on about date number 4 and goodness knows how long before she opens the full candy-store ..

Tallin was ace when me and the lads went. We had a two storey apartment each for 3 nights and flights for £98

We went end of Jan/beginning of Feb and be warned it's cold. On landing the pilot said it was -14C daytime and then dropped to -28C that night with a snow storm when we were out.

The bars are all silly warm with big open fires etc.

We thought we went prepared - hats, gloves, sturdy shoes/boots, thick socks, big thick coats but the one area that gets you are your thighs through jeans/normal trousers. Even with a 5 minute walk between bars you couldn't feel your thighs anymore!

Girls are drop dead gorgeous. There are lap dancing bars and some good nightclubs.

Shopping for Russian war items is amazing especially with what you can buy for peanuts eg Russian paratrooper combat stuff.

And yes, the Russian Mafia do exist so be a little bit careful about being taken to clubs down quiet back streets. We met a couple of lads who did this who had to hand over all their money before they were allowed to leave. One of them stupidly threw a bottle through the window and then a mass chase started with 14 big burly Russians chasing them down the streets.

Like all capital cities, it's no more dangerous than anywhere else, you just have to use common sense.
