Boys with a hand down their pants, yeah, no!

I removed reading something on it a while back but basically the conclusion was it's an emotional security thing. These people are that insecure they that constantly have to cup their junk to remind themselves that they're a man.

Possibly originally but i always thought it was a wannabe gangster thing that came over from the other side of the pond.

I have seen this for at least the last 2-3 years. My wife asked me why they did it and I had no explanation.

Sadly (not really) I doubt anyone on these forums does it so the mystery will prevail.

I might be wrong but I thought it stemmed from the US of A where gangs/chavs would hold guns out of direct sight (like a bank robber) as a threat?

Either way, it's disgusting and looks ridiculous.

Yep this.

Usually done to look menacing, i.e have a hidden knife etc, same as having one hand constantly in a jacket pocket. Although the general non div public are not supposed to be the target of the menace. Every little helps when you can be stabbed for being in the wrong post code.

The man's not hot meme with the perpetual hoodie is to obscure their face and also in the event of a police chase or a crime you can change clothes very quickly by ditching the hoodie.

Those silly little bags they wear, same as point 1 with a potential concealed weapon.

Wearing joggers over jeans, quick change of clothes again.

My source is a 17 year old helmet I have as an apprentice from a bad London estate.

I've not seen that before but have seen a few with their underwear coming out the top as their trousers are really low  I'm guessing they don't know how to even dress themselves properly?

I've always assumed this is where is stems from and inevitably you get middle class idiots copying the culture. The truly worrying thing is significant numbers of young men feel the need to be this defensive because of the environments they live in.

They're chavs and know they are chavs, they are expecting to be booted in the nuts by non-chav members of society.

A lot of my customers are what you call "chavs", but in all honesty they are usually nicer people than the uppity working class that resides in Britain today.

Bonus points if you are dressed as Jimmy Saville or a Catholic Priest.

Nah I do work with children though

Admitting you're a dealer is against the first rule of being a dealer bro

Chav:
a young lower-class person typified by brash and loutish behaviour.

We might need to understand your definition of 'nicer' for your comment to make sense.
