BR Player

My parent's VHS/DVD player has gone bust and they're looking to replace it with a BR player. Ideally I'd want it to have netflix/iplayer and the ability to handle external storage such as MKV files. Any recommendations?

You don't need to spend £500 though. I bought a Toshiba drive for £60 from Tesco which does everything the OP requested.

Can the PS3 play MKV files without converting them first? I know it couldn't, but whether this has been added, I don't know.

Nope, need to run them through a program like MKV2VOB first.
