Braces

Will be worth if for sure chris... wish I'd had mine done years ago! Mine got done for free as I started the treatment before I was 18 (had 4 teeth out before the brace got fitted).

NHS waiting lists must be long where you live - I'm pretty sure you could have an ortho appointment in a few months max where I am. Fair play to your parents for stumping up the cash though - I bet it's not cheap!

I hope so as well :) It's quite hard to explain, but i can see a difference with my bite. Before my top set of teeth were way in front of the bottom, but now they sit right on top when i'm biting. Amazing bit of kit :)

I had to have 4 teeth out as well. 2 on each side on the top. My dads my dentist (not orthodontist though) so that was alright :)

There's 2 orthodontists around where I live and both had very long waiting lists :( One of which just wouldn't even consider taking me on as a patient :D

I had braces when I was younger, can hardly remember them now, and I doubt any of my friends even remember either. They are better for you, the only thing I found was that after a while of not wearing them (read 4 years) my front 2 teeth started to overlap, but I think this might be as a result of my wisdom teeth growing through.

I have braces in now actually. I had braces in when I was younger but I never wore my retainer, so my teeth became crooked again. So I got it sorted (I'm 22 now). Got them in last month. I'm OK with it. They're hard to see since they are ceramic with a white wire. My treatment time is only 12 months. Thought I'd get it done now than later.
