Change discs and pads? My front brakes also smell like doritos after a harsh run. My friend says i should change pads and discs all round, but I don't have £200 spare at the minute, and the rears are the only ones that actually visually look done, but the fronts are the problem :(

If the disc is 'warped' at the front, would the new pads not smooth it.. some how?

just change the discs + pads at the front. I doubt it'll be £200 unless it's a BMW or something. (or you put it into a garage)

You can change them your self about 15-30 mins each side.

Its nearly £200 for discs and pads all round. Car shudders under heavy braking, alignment is fine, and the brakes smell bad so im guessing warped disc on one side and need new pads, although front-face pads look fine.

Toyota celica, i don't think it binds as i can let go of the wheel when driving without it pulling to either side, its only when heavy braking (say from over 60mph) it shudders.

do you ever brake from high speed to a complete stop?this is the main reason brakes judder as you get a build up of pad material in one part of the disc.try doing some high speed braking down to say 40mph then a calm period to let brakes cool down then same again.repeat 5 or 6 times if possible.
most so called warped discs ive seen havnt been warped they have just had this build up of pad material.
obviously they may be warped but you can try this test for free and it may save yu buying new discs and pads.

£200 for discs and pads all round isnt that expensive people especially from a main dealer

Change disks if worn.

If that's no help look at the ABS sensing equipment. On some cars (mostly Rover) the phonic wheel brakes and the ABS cuts in at inappropriate times.
