Brakes jammed...

I had the same trouble with my slk55amg but the fix was a lot quicker..lol

360bhp at the rear unlocks handbrakes real quick

Must drive that thing a bit more before she goes

Your poor clutch must now be screaming at you :( I had this on my old Tigra, had to drive it uphill about 20feet on gravel, dragging it's rear offside, then stuck it in reverse and it snapped.

Don't go near brakes with WD40... stupid post as someone is bound to now know any better....

Tell me, do you masturbate with super glue?

Huh... WD40 evaporates VERY quickly ESPECIALLY where heat is involved.

Over-reaction is Over-reaction !!

WD40 is NOT grease or oil.

[edit as no doubt some smartarse will spout "but it lubricates"]

YEs it does lubricate temporarily but note the "temporarily"... Any person not taking that fact into account when initially driving off (it evaporates almost instantly when brakes applied) needs to have licence removed !!

Part of it does but it's mostly made from paraffin which does not evaporate very easily at all, though it does burn very well if you make it hot enough. It also tends to soak into the friction material.

Spraying any kind of lubricant on the working surfaces of a brake is just ridiculous.

It's no over-reaction! Racing karts I've seen many sets of brake pads thrown away due to careless aim when spraying WD40. You can clean it off the disc with some brake cleaner, but the pads absorb it and are never the same again.

Agreed. I've had a trailers brakes freed off with WD40 in the past (although not with Stobarts!) and it was no fun gingerly driving the rig back to a workshop to have the trailers brakes changed, it was like driving using the "shunt valve" i.e. no service brakes on the trailer whatsoever.

Given how the average joe drives, that last thing I would want to do would be add some lubrication - however small the lasting effect - to a friction based braking system!
