I have a SanDisk Ultra 16GB CF card "Compact Flash" which had never been used before still in its packaging and I opened it today because I needed to use it for something.

I popped it into the computer and the computer read it no problem. I needed to create 2 partitions and prepare it for what I was going to use it for. I opened up G-Parted in Linux to create my 2 partitions in FAT32. I click apply changes and then I get "An Error Occurred" I tried again and again restarted the computer and tried again. Same error. Now the CF card is unallocated and I can't format it or nothing with the same error. Thankfully its still recognized in G-parted but I can not do anything with it.

The CF Card is not broken I don't believe that "new" or unused CF cards can go bad this easily. Maybe G-parted is a bit garbage. I have used it before to format other CF cards but thats about it.

CF cards are not cheap like they used to be and I'm pulling my hair out. Something that was supposed to take a few minutes has now turned into hours with nothing accomplished and a possible useless CF card. I have been searching google but no solution found.

The CF card was going to be used as a hard drive for a vintage computer.

Any ideas? or any help would be appreciated.
