Branded Stickers?

Hi guys,

I know a lot of places do it but what are you thoughts on placing your company logo as a sticker on fixed/repaired computers/devices?

To give you an idea I own a computer repair business and a lot of people say place your stickers on all jobs going out. In my opinion this is ok if it's a supplied, laptop, printer, router etc but if a computer comes to me and I replace the screen for example is it acceptable for me the place a sticker on the bottom of the case with my business details/phone number?

Thought I would get some other opinions :)

Thanks

I wouldn't mind on the underneath but might not want on the side or anything that affects its look or design.

Might be nicer to give out branded pens or some other affordable branded items. Or even if people don't like stickers a small business card given with each repair, I would definitely prefer that to a sticker.

It's only OK if it's stuck on so firmly that it leaves a horrible, difficult to remove, mess when your paying customer wants to remove it.

Use a blank space on said sticker to Sharpie on customer name/order number and/or date, this can serve a a warranty period without the need to produce a receipt that could be long lost. It will also give people less reason to remove it or be annoyed they have had something added for no reason other than pure marketing BS.

Supply a sticker still on its backing so that customers can just chuck it away.

I wouldn't waste your money. If I had something repaired and it came back with a sticker on it, I'd be peeling it off straight away. If it came back with a sticker on its backing, it would get binned.

Oh sorry I forgot this is GD, must add GD reply as well as my proper response.

Can you not just add a Skidmark to each product sent out, you know to match your username? :D

I would get the sticker made so it's on a larger backing so you could staple it to their receipt / invoice / delivery note etc. If the customer is pleased with the service then it's then their choice to stick it to the device somewhere of their choosing.

Sensible reply:

No. Their stuff is not your advertising space. If you want to advertise on their stuff you should negotiate a deal with them and pay them in some way. Include a peel-off branded sticker with their paperwork, maybe, but expect it to be thrown away. I think it would be rare for someone to choose to stick a company's advert on their stuff, but it might happen sometimes so they have a convenient reminder if they want to buy something else from the same business in the future. But I think nowadays most people would just do a search on their digital records.

GD reply:

I think you should give them some of your saliva in a little bottle, for that personal touch. Remember to smile a lot when handing them the bottle. And make sure you touch their hand while doing so. Not just brief contact that might be accidental. They need to be sure it's genuinely personal. Remember to smile all the time and maintain eye contact all the time.

Some great ideas and some....

Saliva with the pandemic would be chaos.

I always give out a few business cards with jobs so I may leave it at that for now.

I don't see much point in a business card either. They know who you are because they found you in the first place. But I do think that a small flyer or pamplet whowing what other services your business offers (or even the business card if you have space to put it on the back) can give them information they didn't know of.

Quite a few people have told me don't bother with flyers, lol. I usually give them a few business cards with the intent they may hand out to people they know :)
