Brands you HATE

Maxtor
asrock
qtec
pcchips
i dont so much hate them but id never buy a foxconn board either
not a big fan of linksys either

the only brand other than those obvious ones that i dont like, and i dont know why, are abit, i loved the NF7-S back in the day but since then ive always thought they were pretty ****

Creative (X-Fi support - or lack of)
Asus motherboards
ATi Catalyst Control Center(cards are fine)
Q-Tec
C2D NV chipsets
Maxtor
PC-Chips
Belkin
Saitek mice
Apple (both ipod and macs)
Fujitsu and Samsung laptops

Finally, special mention must go to my Microsoft XBOX360 Wireless steering wheel... pathetic build quality, off center home position (fixed by pulling the thing apart rather than simply calibrating it) and barely any feedback. About 3 years newer than my logitech force feedback pro but you wouldn't know it - the logitech is awesome!

gt

LOL seems to be a pattern here but ill join in...

Creative - again for their stupid drivers and like someone else said lack of interest...shame though first sound card i had was a sb16 i think and i thought it rocked :)
Asus....blew up
dlink...badly made
altec lansing...fell apart
logitech keyboards and mice
anything saitek or anything like those gamers keyboard type stuff
amd....blew up
ati..... hate the driver packages
gigabyte.... two motherboards blew after 13 months
ibm hd's
dell--unreliable and over priced imho
apple
anything with the word linux in it
o and philips optical drives
and anyone who makes or did make internal isa modems :P

ahhh that feels better

Judging by the amount of kit you've had blown up I'd say the pattern is you ;)

For me, I won't touch M-Audio or Creative any more due to their poor drivers. That said, I like M-Audio products, just wish they'd spend some money on driver development.

Can't stand Belkin network gear or the cheap Netgear stuff.

Matshita you mean. With their cheap, pathetic 9mm DVD-RW drives that manage to make a coaster out of a 4x single layer burn... fortunately some laptop manufacturers have started using Pioneer instead.
er no, it's Matsushita (it's Matshita on dvd drives and other pc kit because of the 8 character limit in Windows). Never had a problem with the drive in my laptop :p.

i'd like to add - Any Tat from **********. The quality of *MOST* stuff their and especially their "exclusive" brands which only appear to be exclusive as the tat they make is utter *****

Please read the rules regarding swearing and competitors.

Dont know what you mean :p

My mate has a nice M-audio sound card and he is also waiting on some drivers.......

Also not very impressed with the bacon roll ive got...the bread is under cooked...:D

everyone who makes sound cards that are £40-100, none of them are bug free (with vista anyway)

apple - itunes is a joke

lol

Your mate might be waiting a while, I waited a year since the Vista RTM for some Revo 7.1 drivers and they still didn't have any - bought an Asus in the end!

PC-Chips (hangs head in shame for ever owning one)

I'll join you in the head hanging. The only board that ever broke down on me was PC-Chips back in 1996.

Can we include software? I'd like to nominate the clowns that make Nero. 5 mins to install then 5 hours to uninstall all the unwanted spyware and CPU hogging services that it sprays across your hard disk.

Some very interesting lists there, also some strange ones, maybe I've just been lucky but I love:

Belkin: Using a cable/gigabit router and it's flawless. Never had problems either wired or wireless. (DLink however...)

Logitech: Love my mx518, best mouse I've ever owned, and their joysticks used to be second to none - Loved my Wingman Extreme, which brings me on to the next one...

Microsoft: I found the Force Feedback Pro 2 to be the best joystick I've ever owned - had it for years and even got the soldering iron out when a minor repair was needed - gutted they don't make them anymore!

ATI: Drivers/CCC??? If you don't like them then just download the bare driver? They give you the option so I don't see how you can complain? Personally I love CCC (bloatware blah blah...) My machine is quick enough not to be slowed down by it and it actually has some fantastic functionality if you use your machine as more than just a game station - the built in profile shortcut keys are a godsend that I sorely miss now that I'm on an 8800GTX :(

AMD: "Blew Up" - not even going to speculate what you did to the poor thing, but I've owned several generations of AMDs, I've abused them all, especially my lovely xp2600m that went like a rocket under phase! And they all came back asking for more.

I guess it shows how subjective these things are. (And Overclockers is a brand BTW - even sell their own branded stuff ;))

I do have lots of hates that I'm sure other will disagree with so here they are:

DLink - so, so poor. Really, really, really rubbish networking product!
Apple - Do less, for more, but feel smug because it looks shiny...
Advent - Anyone who's had to deal with their 'special' motherboards knows my pain!
Nvidia - specifically their laptop drivers and unbelievably confusing driver naming policy. (But love my 8800GTX!)

Creative are about the only brand i dislike currently.

Terrible support for the past 2 years, horrible drivers for Vista (ive ditched my X-fi in favour of RealTek onboard cos well it works!) and when someone actually tries to do there job properly they act like an ass.

Motherboards:- Asrock, Abit (used to be excellent :( ), PC-Chips, Asus (this is my first and last Asus board as it took them months to release a decent bios).

Graphics cards:- Asus (appalling customer support), Sapphire (awful coolers), EVGA for their misleading warranty claims.

Psu's:- Hiper (blew up after 12 months), Q-Tec (never had one but the reasons are obvious), Generic junk that come with cheap cases (first thing that gets ripped out), Seasonic (had a 650w S12 Energy+ die after 4 months), Enermax (had a 400w Liberty die after 10 days), OCZ (had a GameXstream 700w die after 2 months).

Maxtor (had too many failures).

Creative and Nvidia for their abysmal driver support.

Linux (tried several different distros and hated them all).

Firefox (just hated it)

Vista (biggest pile of poo i have ever used).

Sahara: Everything they make and put their name on is kak. Even their name is kak.
Asrock: Kak brand, kak boards.
ECS: As above.
Chaintech: Hate their stuff, too.
