Brazil unveil logo for 2014 World Cup.

Actually most of Brazil is only 3 hours behind the UK compared to 5-8hrs for most of the USA.

This means that e.g. a 19:30 kickoff local time will air at 22:30 UK time, so even if there is extra time and penalties it certainly won't run into the 'middle of the night'.

The chances are they will be scheduling games with the European market in mind anyway, so the two earlier kickoff slots will fit nicely into primetime CET viewing. If you look at the kickoff times from USA'94 there were hardly any games kicking off later than 18:35, and that was typically featuring sides from the east (Russia, Saudia Arabia, Korea etc). The latest any knockout game started was 16:35 local time, so once the group stage was over there were literally no evening games at all.

Make no mistake about it, Brazil is pretty much the ideal place to be hosting the WC when it comes to match scheduling times; it means we'll miss fewer matches while we are at work. We should be able to catch two (maybe even 3!) games in our evening as opposed to just one for the current WC in South Africa. RESULT!
