The second reg flag gives time to ponder on rules again...

Given how we expected wet weather for the race today, should we have an FIA rule that stipulates the minimum percentage downforce (wing settings) that each team must use for the race?

Each team has to demonstrate the maximum downforce their car can generate, so say it was 75%, there would probably be a slight deviance in what 75% potential downforce would be for each team.

That will happen as a minimum as otherwise Abu Dhabi will be ruined.

Why does it change it much?
still a third would be enough for Rosberg, whether it is half or full points here, isn't that right?

At least the red flag gives a chance of full points today, rolling in circles did not.

Ted just mentioned Bianchi. The problem is that Charlie has been paralysed by fear since his screw up that day

But the issue that day was having heavy machinery on track and drivers not slowing sufficiently.

Could have been avoided by getting the safety car out and bringing the drivers into the pit before machinery came on to the track. (Or VSC which was implemented after that accident).

Anyway this sums up the state of F1 atm...shambolic. Race is over.

So 3rd was always enough under normal points. 12 point gap going in (19 before today and Hamilton gains 7) and 10 point difference between 1st and 3rd.

But with half points 15.5 point gap going in. Even 5th would be enough in Abu Dhabi.

SC should have been deployed immediately and definitely before machinery was trackside. Think they claimed the local marshalls didn't know the correct procedure but that's irrelevant. Charlie is the race director and the buck stops with him.

Why not introduce a back up day like most sports have. Do the race on Monday and give spectators a chance as well.

Might need to space out the GPs geographically far apart a bit more.
