After coming back from Scotland yesterday, my mates missus was aboslutely distraught to find that both front doors on her nearly new Ford Fiesta were open.
Not wide open, but not shut properly if you know what I mean. The car was parked on the drive, and was checked it was locked by them both before we set off on Sunday. All the windows were up.
There is no damage, nothing is missing, no broken glass, no bent metal or pry marks, yet there is evidence that people have been sat in the car. According to the neighbours, even the alarm did not go off. How?
Excuse my ignorance, but is it still so easy with modern vehicles? Is it just her particular car? She is so upset, she refused to drive it this morning. What is really bothering her though, is that if they got in so easy, what`s to stop them doing it again? Is there anything I can tell her to put her mind at rest? I am not sure how the locking systems on the Fords work. I suppose she could have unlocked it by accident via the key fob, but knowing her as I do, thats unlikely.
Any suggestions on what may have happened would be greatly appreciated. She has no idea I am posting this. I am just trying to help. I suspect they may have left the car open, but that is not what she wants to hear.
P.s. thinking about the car, it could be a Fusion. We were all a bit muddled and I never checked. Its definately a small Ford.
