Break pedal squeak without handbrake on

As per title the break pedal is squeaking with the handbrake released which is a bit embarrassing now

. It does not squeak with the handbrake on...

What could this be?

Use some lube/grease, it should get rid of it.

The squeak comes from the outside of the car btw. It happens when the brake pedal is released.

does it only happen at low speeds, could be a sticky caliper.

The pedal squeaks, it's not the breaks that are squeaking as I know the noise of squealing breaks. It's coming from outside the car

I can provoke this noise from a standstill with the handbrake off and depressing the break pedal. With it on though it does not squeak :confused:

I take it you've got drums on the back? Perhaps the shoes need looking at.

Yep I have drums, there is a similar thread at FFOC and the general consensus was the drums. Any idea on cost?

Lubricate the discs, should clear it up
