Breaking Bad Season 4

screw dvd, it would look amazing on blu-ray, theres tons of detail in every scene :)

It's weird, I have had HD for a few years now and I dont really care about tv series in HD, I do like documentaries and pixar films in high definition though. Some things just aren't supposed to be in hd, I like the rough look in horror and David Lynch films.

It's an amazing series. I really liked seasons 1&2 but there were some episodes that got a bit formulaic:
1. Walt gets a brilliant idea
2. Jesse does something stupid and messes it up, they're in huge trouble
3. Walt fixes it with his chemistry superpowers.
Again, I did like them anyway, it was only a few episodes where I would go "yeah, yeah, I know how this'll turn out..."

But season 3 was different. Season 3 was flawless! It was like a cross between The Wire and a Beckett play. It was tense, and bizarre, and brutal, and surreal, and when I realized there'd be no more to watch for a whole year I was heartbroken!

You'll find this is very typical of American shows for at least 1 series; cancelation is an all too present fear, and when they have got some confidence under them they will go for something a bit more ambitious. Fringe is the biggest example of this.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I mean even in season 1 it was a pretty bleak and depressing series, but s3 went all out dark like Kafka's blue cheese-fuelled nightmares!

My fav show ever, even taking over the wire.

Personally I can't understand statements like this... BB is very good but there are some VERY annoying episodes and some of it does get very repetitive. Also I think the show suffers from over-exaggerating Walts "crazy irrational moment" to the point where you're just looking at the screen thinking "wtf, this isn't even believable". I like series to suck me in and make me not think about what is believable or not, to just accept what i'm seeing, but BB makes that very hard sometimes. I think it's a good show, but not great.

They're completely different shows, at least compare it to like for like shows :p

Anyway, there's a reason why The Wire has a cult like reputation.

Sheeee-it!

I watched Saving Private Ryan tonight for the first time in years and noticed Brian Cranston after the D Day scene.

I also never remembered Nathan Fillion (Firefly) as the wrong Ryan

Only got into this show after several recommendations from this forum, and now am just coming to the end of series 3 and absolutely loving it!!!

Great that series 4 is just around the corner so I don't have to wait too long till my next fix of it.

One week to go. The episode list and info are on wiki. Full of spoilers, so, don't read. I didn't.

All I know is the name of the first episode.

So, are we getting this the same day as the states or am I going to have to find other ways of getting it?
