MGS Snake Cast

They are saying the 3 leading candidates are Viggo Mortensen, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. They also say James read me Cameron could be the director as said by Hideo Kojima. News has just come our way that Hideo Kojima has personally confirmed in a recent HIDECHAN! Radio entry that plans for a film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid are currently underway.

Kojima says this movie will be nothing like anyone has ever seen. The movie is cheduled to come out in the summer of 2008!!!!!!!!!

Like most tie ins, should be awesome but will fall way short. Fans already have giant expectations of what they want to see. Film directors don't get that or ever reach those levels. So they flop in the eyes of the fans.

Normally end up leaving the cinema listening to loads of groups say "wtf did they do x for" or "omg they ruined x"

Bale has Batman & Hugh Jackman will always be Wolverine who's just shaved.

Viggo Mortensen is a good actor, and older, and i think he'd fit the bill a little better than the other two.

Christian bale would be cool but as he is also Batman it might not work. Definately not Jackman though he will just be Van Hellsing trying to pretend he is as cool as Snake, screw that!

Also I think this film could work, I mean in the games you are practically watching a movie, over 50% of it is always cutscenes, so I think it would work nicely as a film, but like someone said earlier, they will probably try to make the film appeal to a wider audience and lose the Metal Gear fans in the process.

That would be very disappointing!

its a shame he doesnt look too much like snake really

would have been perfect.

i mean he has the rough knarly voice (obviously), the mullet of all mullets i guess he could grow and shape to perfection, and he'd have the general coolness just for being snake

but his features dont quite match up to snakes if im remembering what he looks like right (too lazy to go check)

They should dub his voice over whoever is cast as snake. Of course they'd have to do a good job of it to do it well.

edit- Didn't realise Hayter partly wrote the first two X-men films. If Hugh Jackman is cast that would be good since they'll already know each other

If they didnt use the snakes voice from the games i.e david hayter then it just wouldnt sound right, i dunno. snakes voice is cool imo :cool:

Cameron's booked for the next 5 years with his own projects. Although I'd love to see what he could do with the franchise.

Mortessen would make a decent job of it probably but...

my own personal pick would be that Sawyer guy from Lost. Dye his hair, give him a pack of cigarettes, some guns etc.

ya know, lookin at his pic again, it could work. he has the right nose and eyes/eye brows
