Shame Snake Plissken himself Kurt Russell is probably to old for the gig now as it was that character which Snake was based on, I reckon Russell would have the 'look' as well.

Amazed it's taken this long for a Metal Gear film to come about really, the games are practically films in themselves and should translate really well to the big screen.

Of course the problems come when they turn the film into something totally different to the games a la Resident Evil where instead of following the proper RE storyline they just decided to make one up.
 
I think it could be good if it's like FF7: Advent children in the sense that it's storyline fits in somewhere with the games' storylines. But doing that wouldn't give them much freedom, and the actors would have to look a lot like their in-game counterparts.

I'm not sure how a film would work?

I can play MGS in a few hours if I skip the cutscenes, if I watch them its around 8 hours.

I just feel that a film will be too short. :(

1st one will be called MGS: The Fellowship of the Snake
2nd one will be called MGS: Twin Snakes
3rd one will be called MGS: The Return of Ocelot

lol the 3rd one actually does sound like a potential sequel!

Kojima actually didnt want to make a film a few years ago so something must have changed that made him think it would be worth doing.

Yeah money talks an awfull lot lol
I think this is gonna be the end of the MGS games, so many he wants to finish it off with a movie.
 
Bring on the Bale!!!!

Seagal would have to loose a lot of weight and go back in time when he was almost good at acting :p
 
Try going back in time and watching Kurt Russell in Escape from New York, I would say that Solid Snake was heavily based on his character. For me none of the above would fill his shoes, Kurt was the man :D
