I'd say that the biggest problem is getting the newly grown teeth to develop in the correct position. It's no good if they stick out every which way or are different sizes/lengths, making it impossible to chew.

Even if the tooth is smaller it still usable, and correct position isnt really that hard, the living function which is hardest and it seems they done it.
