Hi. Just about to start cladding a timber frame summerhouse and I am looking into breathable membranes, can I use ordinary roofing felt on the walls under the cladding?

Roofing felt isn't breathable and not intended for use on walls. Any timber cladding we specify, we put daltex frameshield on the walls as its fully breathable. Depending if you've got vertical or horizontal cladding you'll have to batten it out so you can provide min 25mm airgap behind it.
