Bridge Camera for a Beginner?

So recently I've started using my camera more and more and I've become quite interested in photography.

Currently I'm using an old Fujifilm A610, but would like to buy something with a bit more oomph.
Main usage would probably be capturing wildlife. Both at a distance as well as close up shots of insects.

I have a budget of up to £200 ish.
But I have absolutely no knowledge on cameras or which would be a good buy.

Help please ;)
Thanks.

Hi,

I had a Fuji S8000fd before getting my dSLR and that was very good, and the Macro on it is great.

Technical details of said camera;

8-megapixel CCD (although not a SuperCCD)
18x optical zoom
f/2.8-4.5 lens with a focal length range equivalent to 27- 486 mm
2.7-inch 230k LCD monitor
Face detection technology
and a maximum ISO setting of 6400

How about a secondhand canon powershot G11? (They're a couple of years old, replaced by the G12)

Should develop your photography interest without breaking the bank and would be a good way to step up to a DSLR in the future if you want to.

It won't have the telephoto capabilities you're looking for but on a non SLR it's not really something that should dictate your purchase IMO.

just bought a fujifilm s2950 that has massive zoom and hd video not bad for the money only £149 and get a decent sd card 45mb sec although i had it a week and sent it back as miss the slr`s just didnt focus like a slr can
