***Brighten Up Black Friday With Some Colourful Goodness!!! ****

Being sarcastic will win you few new customers, especially when the company you mention has many discounted pc parts at up to 64% off. And you offer 3% off the graphics card I'm interested in...
Unfortunately, you still don't seem to get what I'm saying. The occasional overstock issue is to be expected for any large company but we keep them pretty much under control so you aren't going to see many "silly" discounts from us.

By "silly" I mean unnecessary...companies are still failing all around us, we are still in recession, it would be stupid of us to give away money.

I assume that you have reasonable taste in products, which means if you are interested in a card other people are likely to be too, hence it is VERY unlikely to be overstocked. In fact, if you are interested in one of the newer cards it's likely to be in short supply and so no discount is necessary, it's just offered as a gesture of good will.

Companies like New Egg & Amazon will have a LOT of overstock issues, they deal in massive volumes & no-one gets every decision right. If they are discounting any major PC component (CPU, Motherboard, GPU etc.) by more than 20% you can guarantee that they are making a big loss to clear an overstock before the stock devalues naturally.

After all, at the end of each financial quarter, investors look at and judge by a simple ratio, bank balance vs. stock level.

& finally, in my defence, my sarcasm was justified. Criticising a £15 discount on a bundle (which has to be built, overclocked and tested by our staff) and then quoting New Egg as a shining example, when both of the "bundles" (not built, not tested) they were offering for Black Friday had just £9.50 off.
That's a little short sighted in my opinion. :(

Maybe if you can't appreciate OcUK doing some reductions (when they really don't have to) then maybe you shouldn't be shopping here. Go to some other retailer who won't be there in the future when you have to return your item (and you end up shipping it half way around the world with no return for months).

Years ago OcUK gained it's name as a premium brand, for the best bundles, best support and best overclocking hardware. There has always been lots of competition, OcUK are better on prices now than ever before! You still get the best bundles, best support and best clocking hardware. Just now it's occasionally at the best price too! That's why so many of us are very loyal. :D

'Black Friday' is an american thing anyway, just UK sellers seem to jump on it as it's 'free promotion', in reality which company would be silly to not want a boost in sales directly before the Christmas rush? ;)

I understood completely, my comment was not aimed directly at you but at British business in general. Black Friday is not just a way to get rid of old stock, but a chance for promotion, look at what two of the world biggest companies have just done, Sony and Microsoft have just released their new console, both of which they sell at a loss, and they make huge amounts of money from the games, in the U.S. people will go crazy for outrageous bargains from certain retailers, and those retailers with the biggest bargains will get huge publicity while making a small loss, it's no different than paying for advertising. Overclockers claimed to have a "Black Friday" sale which could have done the same thing, imagine the publicity if you sold a certain amount of the latest cards for only £200, that would surely have brought you many new customers in the future and been great publicity if you had promoted it. That's what I was expecting when you wrote of Black Friday. Sorry if you thought I was bad mouthing OC in some way, I was just airing my disappointment at the lack of a "real" Black Friday type sale.

Unfortunately, we'd also annoy both AMD and Nvidia and probably lose all the partnership benefits that enable Gibbo to offer so many good deals on graphics so often :(

I would just like to say there is no place for 'sarcasm' towards any prospective customer, it is not good business practice. Your point should have been made minus the sarcasm, it cannot be justified in any way.

The sarcasm wasn't really directed at a particular customer just highlighting the misconception of a 'bundle deal'.

If you can't handle sarcasm then the UK isn't really the country for you lol, sarcasm is VERY British (which is why most yanks don't get British comedy) ;)

I think my point was, 'why would you be sarcastic to a prospective customer and run the risk of offending' Don't think I said I couldn't handle sarcasm but I do get your point. :D
