Hey there

Was just wondering what bulbs people now recommend for a crisper whiter brighter light? Are the Osram Nightbreakers still recommended? For a BMW E87.

TIA :)

Would they be sufficient? Only I bought a pair of Halfords Super Brilliance bulbs, rated 50% brighter, whiter etc, similar to the philips, but wasn't very impressed as they were hardly any different to the standard all weather halogens originally, (this was around 6 months ago).

Yea they are good, i use them in any of mine that havent got xenons.

I got some Osrams Nightbreakers recently - but haven't had a chance to fit them yet. I did, however, take some HD footage of before fitting, along with some pictures, and will do a back-to-back comparison when done :)

Back in October I stuck a set of OSRAM Night Breaker Plus in my VTR.

The claim is +90% More Light, +10% Whiter & 50% Improved Life. Obviously I know jack all about bulbs, but I'd say that they're noticably brighter and whiter than the generic ones they replaced :).

Got them from AutobulbsDirect.co.uk.

If you've got Projector headlamps I'd go the HIDs route, but the reflector headlights in my Saxo is a big no no for HIDs as far as I'm concerned.

I personally just use cheap 100w bulbs that are for "offroad" use in the main beams in my Mondeo. They're a lot brighter than any 55w bulb can be and though technically illegal as they're only used on full beam no one will ever notice. They even got through the last mot ok as well.

Dito, I paid about £15 for a full set, this included, full beam, dipped beam, side lides and fogs, not that I use them for my fogs though as I am sure this would be pointless, they work well and I have had no problems so far, even passed the MOT without a problem and done a few tests with a few friends to see if it blinds them when driving past and it doesnt.

Do you have a set? I've got these and I'm not overly impressed.
Nightbreakers blew after about 4 months. Philips for me next I think.

Yeah but I've got a ford Puma and the lights where terrible before i stuck these in, so Yeah they've made a big improvement over the old candles that where oem fitted !
