Bring back rock and roll!!

Bring back the good old days with rock and roll and really bands! it's becoming less and less common now. all this techno/rap/hip hop, i dont even know what to call it, is just not as good!! cant beat a group with guitars and drums and base and hopefully someone who can sing!!!

rock n roll is the way to go! the way of life

Kasabian and, love them or hate them, Beady Eye are the closest we have now to proper rock and roll bands.

Well Rock N Roll is a music I spent from 1970 to 1984 doing.
The music is based around Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard et al.
I got to play in Chuck Berry's backing band in 1980 which was Rock N Roll at it's best and also played guitar with joke Rock N Roll band Showaddywaddy.

Rock is what I do now which is ACDC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden.

Rock N Roll and Rock should NEVER be mistaken for each other.

Agree with the OP,im listening to Beady eye currently on Spotify only 6 songs mind untill the album is released tomorrow.

Despite the negative reviews i think Beady Eye are very good,of course im a huge Oasis fan so i suppose that helps

I love indie/rock music

^ I think using the words Rock n Roll is just a phrase these days for music that is clearly rock and not rock n roll.

Its like when bands/artists say they are recording a new "Record" when they clearly must mean Album as records went extinct years ago

Well it shouldn't be.
If somebody had said to me 'have you listened to Beady Eye, they are a rock n roll band?' I wouldn't have give them the time of day but I'm afraid to say only 3 slow tracks off their album haven't made it onto my MP3 player.

the music industry has to be re introduced to the good old day's! there not real talent anymore. you can make a semi decent singer into a pop star now with all the technology. plus get computers to play instruments.

music really isn't what it used to be!!

I think that's the problem - the talent is still there but it's damned hard to find. The big labels are only concerned with making money, so they fashion materialistic self obsessed, hollow individuals into marketing tools.

Oasis were rock n roll. Definitely a different and developed kind of rock n roll from your Chuck Berry's but still rock n roll - sounds progress and definitions can change. Rock is more what I'd describe as say AC/DC, Queens of the Stone Age etc.

I would actually say the AC/DC of the 70's was rock n' roll but then after Bon Scott died they became a rock band.

If I told the members of my main band Disturbin The Peace that we played 10 rock n roll songs they'd leave.
They are a rock band.

Rock N Roll was the original so named by a DJ in the 50's to describe Bill Haley, Elvis & Carl Perkins etc.
Rock N Roll is a term that decribes that music from the 50s and those people that still play that kind of music and not music laden with heavy guitars.
Rock was used to describe heavy guitar based bands and of course Led Zeppelin were the first band to have the term 'heavy metal' attributed to them although they fit more into a rock category.
I'd like to see Oasis and ACDC playing at a rock n roll club and see how far they get without playing a Johnny Burnette song.
