bringing cigarettes back

lol, you're silly!

Bring back as many as you can fit in your suitcase really, no one ever gets stopped.

Actually saw someone in heathrow getting checked few years back , all his bags were full of cigs, nothing else - no clothes or anything :p

All piled up on the table - must have been around 100 cartons (20,000 cigs)

When I came back from the states the other year I had close to 1000 cigarettes on me in various bags. Strolled straight through customs without a bother.

as long as u don't look suspicious/trying to hide something i would see this working for a lot of people

Yay! Lets all stop paying tax too.

Sooner the better tbh. :p

OK, so it's evasion, not avoidance, but if the rich can do the latter then a little slack on the former for the rest of us doesn't seem unfair.

I may have come in over allowance myself (on purchases, not ciggies) a few times. Just don't take the ****.

A couple of lads I know did that and got away with it, it wasn't as many cartons, was around 5000 each iirc

I took 3600 back with me from somewhere, think it was Tenerife, all went ok except for landing in Newcastle when a customs guy asked if I had anything to declare to which I answered no, he then tapped my suicase a few times and let me on my way, luckily I had wrapped them up in towels and cloths

I got caught with 1400 cigarettes worth about £80. They wanted £74 for each 200 cigarette carton. I told them to shove it. (not literally ofc).

They didn't even let me keep 200.

Whenever I have been abroad we always came back on a late flight. Customs has been empty in Bristol airport every time.

I took 600 fags back from the USA once I knew the limit was 200 but I took a chance, went thru no problem when I got home ;)

When I first started travelling with work i was working in Holland with Shell and EVERYTIME i came through customs i got stopped.

I once got searched in Newcastle heading out to holland for drugs which made me laugh, Coal to Newcastle sprang to mind.

UK customs seems to be all about food these days. Last time i flew into gatwick there was a bloke with 3 PS3's on a trolley from my US flight (back when they were over £300 each) and they didnt even look at him but had everyone form the Lagos flight against the wall and the sniff dogs going over them.

That said one guy I work with came back from china with over 400 pirate DVDs in his suitcase and got stopped, they just took them all off him nothing else which really suprised me.
