Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions get patched

Splash Damage's multiplayer FPS Brink has received its first update, with all versions of the game getting bug fixes and tweaks. Even the PS3 version has been updated, with the patch being downloadable despite PSN being down.

First up is the Xbox 360 title update, which has reduced texture loading times and improved client prediction when playing online - something Splash Damage claims will result in less 'rubber-banding' during play. Numerous game freezing bugs have also been resolved, and all the training videos no longer play when the game should just be showing you the introductory one.

Work is currently being done to identify lag issues being reported by Xbox 360 players of the game.

PS3 can download an update despite PSN being down, bringing with it the same prediction fixes, freeze bugs and video tweaks seen in the Xbox 360 patch. Host migration has also been improved and a bug involving the Ability Wheel has been ironed out.

The PC patch fixes a corrupt character data bug and improves crash reports through Steam. This will enable Splash Damage to better solve issues in the future. A future update will fix the FOV issue some users have been reporting, while Splash Damage is recommending all PC players make sure they're using the most up to date drivers for their video card.

Good news about the patch and that they're keen to support the game.

I've still got mine on the way - think it looks great, with a lot of potential for good teamplay. We shall see!

Just watched the review on giant bomb didnt do very good but wasnt looking to buy it anyway but makes me laugh how they patch games straight away , shouldnt the game be good to go out the box  but plenty of games are like that .

Nearly every game I buy now needs patching when I put the disk in on Xbox, I think it's because in the time between going "gold" and release date they must carry on testing and bug fixing.

Can't wait for Brink though, it should be at home when I'm finished at work. Most reviews are quite promising, I'd probably disagree with the bad ones as I'm such an avid fan of games that need teamwork, like TFC, TF2, etc and they're not everyone's cup of tea.

I've been playing it this afternoon, and really enjoyed it, a few hours past without realising. It looks pretty good on the 360 too and I really like the character customisation. The objective play is pretty good relying on different classes, although I've mainly played as a Soldier so far.

So I'm not disappointeed with the purchase, I'm glad I changed the order to Xbox from PS3 though as I'd say it needs to be played online for most fun.

Been like that for a while... Seriously old skool Penny Arcade from 1998:

anyone got this on 360? I have played it on my friends PS3, the graphics are crap but the single player gameplay is good fun. I imagine the multiplayer online to be good?

Can anyone confirm this before i buy it tonight.. Many people playing it or is a game like Shadowrun that will die off after 3 weeks?

Got this through this morning from love film. I don't actually think it is that bad. The lag needs to be sorted though & maybe a few fixes here & there.
