Jeez, that was some storm last night, havn't seen one that bad ever I don't think.

I was watching the lightning as I find it fascinating, the storm was right ontop of me and it looked as if lightning struck an object less than 500m away, it really hurt my eyes.

The storm hasn't passed yet, I am installing Sky today, don't particularly enjoy being up a metal ladder with a metal dish in my hand during thunder storms!

Anybody else experiencing wicked weather?

Hell yes!!! It felt like it was right over my building (Stoke Bishop), and I'm not sure if it actually struck us or not, but either way it was extremely close! Flashes and bangs at exactly the same time, and VERY loud!

The first clap woke me at about 3.30am, then I tossed and turned and closed windows and unplugged my PC (it kept trying to turn on, all the peripheral lights were flashing), and reset my clock radio (yup, storm did something to that, too) until about 5.30am when I think it pretty much moved away and cleared up...

...as I got up at about 7 to go to work the rumblings were starting again!

I'm in Swindon now. Nothing doing here, as usual...

from about 3am to near on 8am there was mentail thunder and lightning over south wales, torrential rain aswell.

awesome :D
best thing, as much as it woke me (good to watch) it didnt wake the baby, which is shocking, as the house was shaking after some cracks of thunder :D

Serious storm in these parts last night. We had hail stones the lot and ended up with a white covering everywhere. I have pics but my cam is not plugged in as i am stripping down today.
Mental storm though with all the neighbours staring at each other from behind there front room windows. :)

There was a good storm in Chester yesterday. It was warm, and not raining so I took a walk. Then it started raining and I was stuck wearing a see-thru shirt, which wasn't very flattering :) Still, nice to have a storm :D

I'm just outside Weston Super Mare so not too far away from you (thread starter) and yes that was some storm last night!

There was obviously a bolt of lightening directly above us as there was this *huge* flash that nearly blinded me and with pretty much a 0.25s gap the loudest bang I've ever heard, the lights flickered at the same time also.

Was really interesting to watch though.

Bishop Auckland

i was woken up to the loudest, i mean loudest rumble of thunder ever, tbh i actually thought something had blown up, it was monsterous.

that was it mind, also loads of rain and its still pretty dark at the moment.

I find your name rather appropriate ;)

I'm in Bristol. The storm went on for ages...We had a couple of power cuts but they were quick off/on again.

Really loud thunder and the brightest ligtning I have ever seen.

Dan

Could just hear it from where I was. Didn't see a single flash of lightning, so it must have been a long way off, But it was damn loud still

It was mayhem where i lived (South wales, by the severn bridge) electric storms from 2am -7am this morning... They were right above my house, made the floor shake like hell!

On the way to the office this morning i seen numourous tree's fallen to the floor, firefighters trying to sort out floods, kerraazzyy...

I heard sirens going off in the night, got up this morning and drove round the corner, the lightning had hit a tree in the pub carpark and knocked it over.

Didn't wake me up all night.

Trying to get to work in Filton from Yate at 6:30am was fun though, left my house to the quiet rumble of thunder, by the time I reached Frampton Cottrell it was under water

And I sware a lightning bolt hit something very near me as I was driving past, very big flash! And the noise drowned out the sound of my Diesel that PinkFloyd insists on downing due to its noise!

It's here in Glos now, sweet jesus the rain is heavy

5:03am here in Cotham. At one point could see the wall out side my window, that's how heavy the rain was. And Lightning has awesome power, I couldn't believe it. Lightning struck about 30 meters away it was an awesome, but eye burning bright sight..

I love storms like that, the bigger the better.
