Generally aimed at people who live in Bristol or who live near it.

What is there to do in Bristol in the evenings? What bars are good, nice restaurants and things..

Thx

Bez

That's too big a question to answer tbh!!

Take an evening stroll down the Waterfront, or Park Street, or Clifton's Regent Street or Corn Street... go exploring :)

there is so much to do in bristol there is no point in even starting to answer your question.

no matter what walk of life you are from, what culture you grew up with, what dietary requirements you have or what class you are, there is somewhere in bristol for everyone.

:]

Judging by the amount of posts asking " What Bristol is like ? "

Get off your butts and come to the centre of england.

We do not all drive tractors.
We have electricity.
We also have roads and sanitation.
The language is a bit tricky to pick up ( Think Deliverance+Alcohol )
Popular music has now moved out of the tea rooms.
Some public houses stay open after dark.
There are also some after hours dancing clubs.

Come to Bristol, and can you bring me some of your theories on aviation because one day i can see big tractors full off people in the sky.

Great place.

bristol has a lot of offices, so yes plenty of networking positions, wether that = available jobs tho, is another thing.

I'm a Bristol Uni student but I'm currently studying at a University in Houston; I never realised quite how amazing and varied Bristol's night life and cultural attractions are until I arrived here.

I thoroughly recommend going out clubbing in Bristol :)

BTW, I heard that the Thekla had changed hands and is going upmarket :( ?

I lived there for two years and it is the best city in England. I love my home town but if I had the opportunity to live in Bristol again I would snap it up.

I would sum Bristol up like this:

Big city vibe with plenty going on.(something for everyone).
A nice place to actually walk around without feeling boxed in like London.
The west country vibe is there and the place is a lot chilled out compared to other citys.
A good mix of people from all races and there is hardly any of the hostility like you get when going to **** holes like Birmingham for example.

All I can say Bez is go where sara mentioned and you can`t go far wrong. Maybe start at the top of Whiteladies and make your way down ! ;)

It's alright, I lived with 4 bristolians last year and my god did they not stop boasting. That alone has put me off the place.

There is that funny program on BBC with the black woman who searches peoples luggage etc, she sounds bristolian! cant stand the accent but the zoo is nice.

I had to go to Bristol every couple of weeks when I worked for BT.

I miss Bristol :(

Only been up in Stafford a week and already had some drunk chav start on me. Bristol is a really chilled out place, everyone is freindly, people walk out of clubs with a smile rather than wanting to start on some random kids.

Some great clubs up there though, I loved Lloyds, nice music good prices on drink (long queue though), The Sports Bar is a great laugh. Lots of fun games and loads of fit birds too (when I went up)
Oceana (spl?) has a great atmosphere, its just quite expensive. Many a good nights in there :)

If you think that about Bristolians penski I hate to think what you think of those of us from Plymouth and Cornwall :p
You're born with a bit of straw sticking out of the corner of your mouth.

You also think that Worzel Gummidge was a documentary.
