Bristol People

All the places already mentioned are good, other than that I've been to Panache and Sydicate mainly but both have a certain type of music they stick to. However I must mention the burger van that rounds of any night out perfectly, it is in one of the streets leading between most of the clubs and the water front. Nicest hotdogs ever.

I love Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), the place is an absolute legend!

Burnsy
I've never been there and I've lived here most of my life... :o

I'll go there next time I'm around the centre...

Sydicate can be hit and miss... The last time I went it was good tho... You've got Kebab-u-like (1 & 2) very near there also... :)

Oh God, Greenhouse, Berkeley and Syndicate?!

If you want a townie/charty/cheesy night out, fine.

Berkeley is your standard Wetherspoons (though if you like your Spoonses, check out the Commercial Rooms on Corn Street), the Greenhouse is a glorified bar with a dance floor (and usually full of hen-night-parties), and Syndicate is a cheesy/charty club.

What sort of thing do you like, Greenlizard0?

Well, I've had a bit of a look around, as I'm planning my weekend also... There's quite a lot going on (as always)... Even if you don't plan on going to a club, I often find you can end up there anyway, so I always like to know whats going on... I'd rather eat my own head instead of going to Oceana.

I'll post up a few flyers (it's a lot easier than copying and pasting):

Tomorrow (well technically today), there is quite a lot on...

Free Drum & Bass night for those that way inclined... Lakota is kinda grimey (it's like the opposite of Oceana)...

I should be going to this.... It's great. It's like Eurovision with crazy laptop music. Great if you have a short attention span (like me)...

This is a little less hectic.... breaks and house... quite a few students go to Timbuk2, so it's always real laid back.

More electro stuff at the Thekla...

There's also some more rock/metal/punk music at some venues... check the Fleece & Firkin and the Bierkeller if you are more into this sort of thing...

I haven't really planned on Saturday yet, it's too far off... ;)

I love living in Bristol its GERT LUSH!
:D
Best city in the world, apart from the.....no I wont go there, bit too contraversial.

I've lived in Bristol some 7 years - no city I'd rather live in. What is there to do? What do you want to do?

Oh Bristol, how I love you. Its not just the nightlife thats great the shopping is pretty good too, especially when Cabot's Circus opens next year.

Stuff to do in Bristol throughout the year includes:

St Pauls Carnival
The Bristol Motor and Classic car show
The Baloon Fiesta
Ashton Court Music festival
The Festival of the Sea

There is also: the SS Great Britain, The Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Zoo, lots of Banksy art, the museums (national, industrial, commonwealth)

The local radio channel, gwr fm, is also pretty good - Bush and Troy will always cheer you up in the mornings.

Bristol is pretty close to Bath which is another great place to spend some time looking around, a nice lot of history there. Its also close to Castle Coombe which is good for all the petrol heads

The public transport system is pretty dire though and like most other places in the UK there always seem to be roadworks everywhere.

Sorry to go a bit overboard, im just a big fan :) im moving back today after 4 years away - hurrah :D

You think Bristol folk sound farm? Try Somerset, just down the road, living in the sticks finds you some real accents :D

Bristol is a good night out, depends on what music you like, personally, i've enjoyed getting ruined on a boat (Thekla?) Ramshackle (Carling Academy), Cooler? And other places which i can't for the life of me remember what they are called.

It depends on what your thing is, but there are most things there other cities have, as well as some interesting culture...

Oh and Knip, spot on ;)

Ramshackle is a great night out :) Bristol really is a vibrant city full of culture and varied entertainments, no matter your tastes :) Clifton (Regent Str. area), Park Street, The Waterfront are all very interesting with lots to do.

...and may I kindly point out to everyone that the Bristolian Accent isn't a patch on the real Somerset Farmer Accent ;)

for the majority of people who live in bristol, stabbing/beating people up seems like something they enjoy doing!

le mond is meant to be a very good restaurant. Browns Is posh good atmosphere. But I don't rate the food anything special. White ladies is also good, things like henry africas, las luganas (who do the best cocktail ever, mexican palm spirit with lime juice £5 for 2 before 7pm, £5 each after)

As for pubs and clubs.

either head towards corn street, for going out pubs.
King street for your oldy worldly type pubs. Much more a social thing.

Park street is your studenty type bars.
Whiteladies is studenty/upmarket pubs.

There is QUITE a lot to do in Bristol, I've been here since Oct and I've hardly scratched the surface.

Syndicate is good for house/trance etc
Shipwrecked @ Oceana on Tue is cheap as chips and a great laugh
Plenty of £1/pint nights on Mon across the city (I suggest the White Harte - awesome food too!)

I live on Park St which has enough clubs/pubs to easily keep you entertained for the weekend and the waterfront/town centre are both 5 mins away
