I don't think it is. I think Britcoin was a "lol" term like Brexit to describe Rishi's creation of a crypto task force. I think someone has just jumped the gun to establish an actual currency* with the same name to capture the marketing.

The GBP is already a digital currency. The only physical cash I use is top operate a shopping trolley.

Yeah that was my point. This isn't Rishi's "coin" as he hasn't come up with one yet, he has just setup the taskforce. BritCoin isn't affiliated with the government/Rishi is what I am saying.
Also looks like their website doesn't even exist/work. What a waste of cash getting the cars rented and wrapped!
