British Grand Prix 2014, Silverstone - Race 9/19

Typical british engineering. Trying to undo bolts that have just been hit by an F1 car and bent beyond all recognition.

Get the angle grinder out and just cut the damn thing off, will take 1-2 mins per bolt.

The irony is that the regulation which stipulates a rolling start behind the SC after a race stoppage is undoubtedly there for safety reasons, yet the FIA are flatly denying there are any safety implications to the introduction of standing restarts after a SC next year. Yeah right

Im not complaining about an sc restart. Less chance of the mclarens getting jumped!

Fair point tbh!

Nasty crash at an unusual place. Hope that is smoothed out for next year.

Brundle saying it's a rain gulley so I presume it needs to be there to some degree, but they need a more solid/smooth covering.

Absolutely nothing Kimi could do, cars go out wide all the time, most would choose to come on at exactly the same point, you just can't tell there is a bump there, hit that at good speed and it's out of your control.

Massa said he saw the crash happen earlier(i presume he saw him either hit the wall or coming back off it), and you could hear from incar shot he(and those ahead of him) backed off but difficult to read where Kimi would be.

Just seeing the replay and his terrible start, probably wouldn't have got caught without that, he'd have ended up ahead of the crash :(
