The clandestine meeting of royalty, prime ministers and business chiefs is taking place in Britain for the first time since 1998, sparking fears of "violence and disturbance" by protesters.

The Bilderberg organisers, who include Tory Cabinet minister Ken Clarke, do not release a guest list but a roll-call of luminaries are expected to descend on a luxury Watford hotel from June 6, forcing police to step up security.

Hertfordshire police have refused to release the cost of security for the event, which has previously drawn anti-capitalist demonstrators in other locations around the world.

However, they are in talks with the Home Office about a grant for "unexpected or exceptional costs" that is only given out if it threatens the stability of the force's policing budget. The final bill would have to total more than one per cent of the police force's overall spend - or about £1.8 million - for the grant to be successful.

The invitation-only Bilderberg meetings are attended by around 140 members of the international elite.

While I don't think there plotting world domination, I do feel that there is more to this group then just chest beating and keys in a fruit bowl antics.

Whats the location this year ? For many years the media and mainstream nutcases refused to accept that even existed. Now they accept it exists but still call people who talk about it nutcases.

Ok i see its in watford of all places...

You can see their official website, http://www.bilderbergmeetings.org

I thought it might be illegal for members of government to meet in secret with private sector and discuss policy like that. But apparently its not secret and they don't discuss policy, its nothing more than a conference, it is not an agenda setting meet up. They just talk about eugenics, how to start the next war etc.

Can't be that many luxury hotels in watford. Probably the grove http://www.thegrove.co.uk/

They should pay for their own security, problem is that the british probably won't let them pay for their own security. You see the uk police just love overtime, the uk police probably see dollar signs when they heard about the meeting.

When it was in spain few years ago, they only had private police. They even had an apache helicopter and sam site.

This one is fail.

I think the Lizard-men are planning on destroying us all via the unusual method of enforced constant morris dancing.

We don't need any more reasons for independence we have more than enough as it is.

Lets not have this descend into the usual tit for tat thread just waiting for Biohazard and Castiel to post 10,000 words at each other and not read anything.

I'm genuinely interested to know what additional, let alone possible , reason the Bilderberg Group meeting in Watford could lend to the argument for Scottish Independence. Or what relevance his comment has. At all.
