hi guys.

i've got 8meg broadband from bt and am now using the router they gave me but its really really slow.

if i use the modem i got when i first got broadband i can download at speeds typical of 4meg but if i use my router i can only download at speeds typical of 2meg broadband????

when looking in the device manager i can see that it has a '!' in the yellow triangle on the enthernet controller section. now am i right to assume that my ethernet port is up the creek without a paddle as i have the board drivers installed and i cant think what else it could be ???

Try looking for the specific drivers on the disc that came with your motherboard and install them. Maybe your ethernet drivers didn't get included when you installed other drivers.

which bt router have you got? i'm currently on the same connection as yourself and using the standard bt router that i got when i first got my 1meg BB which is a BT Voyager 2100! innitially after my upgrade to 8meg in the first week or so it was downloading at typical 4meg speeds but now i'm flying on full 8meg!

sirus - i have done this and it didnt do anything

harris - its a bt voyager of some sort but im not home at the mo so im not sure which one, standard with the bt 8meg package and have been on 8meg for over a month
