first of all sorry for posting this here but after agers of looking around this seemed the most suitable place

Anyway i want to go for the laptop deal that a competitor are doing at the moment (sign up to orange broadband and get a free laptop), but there's only one catch for me, the download limit. Currently i am on tiscali which gives me unlimited download but orange will only give 2gb a month. So how long will this last? i have a network of 2 computers at the moment (this and my bro's) but there will be 3 on the network if the laptop comes. I use the internet everyday, mostly for going on forums or looking on google etc just general searching. I also download the odd song every now and then and my bro plays online games quite a bit (just little flash things, nothing to download)
So my question is, would 2gb do all that?
Thanks

I think you'd be OK with 2Gb.

As for download space, do you mean downwards bandwidth used? Don't think you can see what you've done the in the past but you can download bandwidth monitors which just record how much you upload and download. Some can even warn if you get within a certain distance/percentage of a monthly limit.

And you might be better off posting this in http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=6.

:)

ho, sorry i didn't see that one, could a mod please move this thread to the network and internet connections section please.

Anyway, thought i would look on the orange website to see what bradband deals they have and i came across the perfect one. It's £19.99 a month, no download limit and free calls included. The only thing is it dosn't mention the free laptop, then again neither does the 'starter package'
Here is where i get confused, do i only get a free laptop with the starter package or do i also get one if i take out the 'broadband unlimited' (the one with free calls and unlimited download limit)
