Plan was to wait until next year but I got bored :p

This a new build, with a few parts re-cycled from my current PC.

Case, Mobo, CPU, GPU all new. Will use my current PSU and MEM and SSD/HDD.

Only adding the GPU due to offer to good to refuse lol.

Parts on order, only case arrived so far. Finally new case ! My current Antec Ultimate 900 has been going around 6 years or more..

Parts:

Coolermaster CM 690 III

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H

***New Graphics Card***

Intel core i7 4770K / 4790K

Will update once more parts arrive, and building starts.

That was quick :D

What happened to the Sapphire Radeon R9 290X?

In transit, using this 7950 until then. Once 290X arrives this lil card is going straight on MM :p

Got my 4770K to 4.4Ghz easily. 1.28v, volts are spot on with this mobo. tried for 4.5Ghz, booted but unstable @ 1.3v. Don't want to go higher, need time to get used to the mobo and tweak it.

Temps on this 4770K are good, 28c Idle Load temp with Kuhler on silent mode. 4.4Ghz OC @ low 80c's.

Pretty happy with this setup, will give this 4770K to my boys once 4790K arrives, then Broadwell 14nm after that :)

Now... that's interesting... you're running them both off an 850w. I feared I would have to get a 1000w PSU on top of a second 290x (if I do get one). I might just get away with it.

If you're already on 850w I would try it first. If you need to buy one now though I would go with the 1000w. Might give you extra headroom for overclocking.
