I've somehow broken my W800i, I got drunk the other night, to the point of having no memory, my mates said they filmed it using my phone and put it back in my pocket. In the morning I tried turning the phone on but no luck, it won't charge either and won't connect to the usb cable so I think I may have fallen over with it in my pocket. Would I be able to get a replacement on warranty because there are no visible signs that the phone has been dropped or put under a lot of pressure?

Well, the worst they can say is no...

In most cases, unless the damage is clearly due to excessive pressure or other user causes, they will normally repair it under warranty.

I'd take the memory card out of it though before sending it away. Dont want them seeing how out of yer face yer were :D

take it to carphone warehouse they sonys phone repairist i had to take it there when software went on my phone. Now the screen cracked they want to charge me £75 to repair it

Any user damage to the handset (cracked screen, water damage - includes dropping it in your pint/toilet, buttons coming off) is chargeable and is not covered by the warranty. It all says in the little warranty booklet that came with the phone.

For example think of a car - if the cam belt went once you drove it out of the showroom, they repair it for free. If you wrap it round a tree, theyre not going to repair it for free because it's your fault.

Besides, it warranty covered everything what would be the point of insurance? :p

Not much use without lying about the timepoint of breaking and committing insurance fraud, if he's already broken it though, is it? (Apart from Orange Care which you can start after you've lost/broken your phone)

I agree that having insurance is a good idea in general, but for now he's better off trying to get it repaired under warranty first.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try and take it to carphone warehouse and see what they say, I didn't bother insuring the phone because I have never broken or lost a phone in my lifetime so I thought whats the point lol, I still won't insure a phone because I now know not to drink that much vodka in one hit.

i kno *** you sayin but when they selling you you the extras lik the cover they say it only £6 a month yeh but it not because you have to pay the extra when you send it to them

Not saying it aint but by the end of it my bro claimed on his insureance and it cost him over £200 by the end of it all

Its just a risk you take, like car insurance. When you have a big crash it comes in useful, as does it if you crash in the first month.

i kno its useful but *** im tryin to say is its cheap yeh but not with all the extras because if its costs me £200 to fix it i can get it done for £75

That's why you put a false claim in towards the end of the year and get your money's worth ;)

P.S - i don't condole this sort of insurance fraud.. :p

In some cases it can work out expensive, but when it covers things like Loss and theft, its good.
